International Students

International students are required to meet all admissions standards for the College. Additional requirements include:
  1. Submit the Pre-Application Information form to Urban Bible College. Once this has been approved, the student may complete the application process.
  2. Submit annual financial certification showing financial sponsorship for the duration of the academic program. If the student is relying on personal or family funds, the student must submit a bank statement or obtain a letter from his/her bank verifying that the student has sufficient funds to support him/herself. If a church or missions organization is sponsoring the student, the institution must send a letter to Urban Bible College indicating the amount of financial support they are guaranteeing for the student. All financial information must be in U.S. dollars. International students are not allowed to work off-campus except in positions that are directly related to Urban Bible College. Work is limited to 20 hours a week during the semester and 40 hours a week during holiday breaks and summer vacation.
  3. Submit a verification of medical health insurance.
  4. International students for whom English is not their native language are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Scores are to be submitted to the Admissions Office. A score of at least 500 on the paper exam or 173 on the computer exam is required for admission.
  5. International transfer students must provide evidence of good academic and financial standing from any previous college in order to transfer to Urban Bible College.
  6. Notification must be made to the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service of any change of an international student's status.
  7. Submit payment in U.S. dollars to cover the full costs, including dorm costs, of the first academic year before an I-20 form will be issued. This payment is fully refundable if the student is not able to enter the United States and attend classes.
  8. International students are expected to take at least 12 credits each semester. Their final semester may be less if they have completed all other course work.
  9. As full-time students, single international students are expected to live on campus unless their sponsoring organization is in the Milwaukee area and plans to provide for their housing and transportation.

Note: At this time, Urban Bible College has not yet been approved by the Federal Government to accept international students. The school is working toward obtaining this approval.
