Transfer Students

Students coming from other colleges who want credit for work completed at another college are required to have the prior college(s) send official transcripts to Urban Bible College. If a transfer student has completed English 101 or its equivalent within six years of making application to City College Milwaukee with at least a "C," he/she is not required to take the English placement test.

Evaluation of transfer credits

  1. Urban Bible College must receive an official transcript from the applicant's college(s), along with the college's catalog or relevant course description(s).
  2. A minimum grade of C is required for transfer credits.
  3. To be transferred, courses must be similar in content to courses offered at Urban Bible College.
  4. Comparison will be made from a college's catalog, course description, credits, and accreditation status. It is the student's responsibility to provide UBC with this information.
  5. Courses from correspondence or distance education programs must be from recognized institutions holding appropriate accreditation. The courses must be equivalent in content and compatible in scope.
  6. Courses from the Urban Bible Training Center (UBTC), Milwaukee are defined in terms of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) rather than college credits. Urban Bible College regards one course from the UBTC program as equivalent to 1 college credit. A combination of courses with grades of B or higher that correspond to the student's program can be used to meet degree requirements. CEU credits are not accepted from other programs.
  7. Transfer students must complete at least 30 credits at Urban Bible College to obtain a degree from the school.  The course work must include at least 2 practicums, Introduction to Urban Ministry, and Counseling in the Urban Setting.
  8. U.S. Armed Forces Institute. Urban Bible College grants credit for course work completed through the U.S. Armed Forces Institute. This usually applies to general education course work and is granted by the Academic Dean upon review of transcripts. The student is responsible to have a copy of the official transcript sent to the Registrar's Office.
